1.
“My heart. It’s been broken, hurt, but still works!”

2.
“I feel pretty without makeup on.”

3.
“My laugh. I love it. I can get a whole room laughing if I start to laugh.”

4.
“My ability to laugh at the smallest and silliest things, to look at the world on brighter perspective than it actually is, and my hair.”

5.
“Last night, I was feeling lost. I’m 42, starting life completely over. And you know that moment you look in the mirror and wonder who it is staring back at you?
So I sat down and wrote out everything that knew about myself. Positive, currently, physically, struggling, feeling…It helped me center myself again.”

6.
“My height. I’m super-proud of my height. When I was a li’l girl, I always thought of it as my disadvantage; well, people made me feel so. But as I grow older, I realized that people are just envious of it (or in other words, they just couldn’t stop comparing, complaining and having enough working brain cells to say nice things, just because they were born to be less tall). I believed everyone should be proud of who they are and what makes them beautiful.”

7.
“My ability to still get up daily and do stuff although I suffer from PTSD, anxiety, and barely feel like moving. I do it all for my two beautiful children and my husband.”

8.
“I love my cooking skills! No matter if I’ve had it before, or even if I like it, I can get down in the kitchen and it’s so relaxing for me.”

9.
“My strength to push on….My ability to see and laugh at the slightest things….Plus I never give up….Always know my today is beautiful and my tomorrow is super-amazing…”

10.
“I love so many things about me. My curves, my eyes, my thighs, my butt, my height. I’ve gotten so much better at loving myself since I’ve started trying.”

11.
“My curiosity and open-mindedness. If you’re a different faith—teach me about it. Different language—I want to try to speak it. Different culture—immerse me in it. Different sexuality—share who you love with me. Different body than mine—laugh at my able-bodied self as you write your name with your feet. Stereotyped—share with me and break the mold.”

12.
“Um. Well. I’m 31 & have three kids, never exercise and have managed to stay relatively on the small side so I guess that’s pretty cool. Thanks to my mom for the good genes? “

13.
“I think it’s my self-awareness. It leads me to my intuition and so it makes me better read between the lines when others tell me something about themselves.”

14.
“My accomplishments. A lot of times I feel down and lost and wonder what I’m doing with my life. But if I stop and take a moment to think about it, I realize I’ve done a hell of a lot for only being in my 20s. I’ve lived in two countries, visited a whole lot more. Gotten my bachelor’s and master’s. And I didn’t drop out or give up when things got rough. I didn’t become a druggy or an alcoholic; my worst addiction is to books and sweets. I might have put on a bit more weight than I’d have liked in the last few years, but I’m in a healthy weight range and my overall health is decent enough. I might not always like the way I look, but even if I had the money I’m not sure I’d actually change anything. I am just me. I don’t need labels or to live up to others’ expectations and I live for myself. It doesn’t matter if I’m single or that I’ve been back in the states for a few months but haven’t started working yet. I deserve a break and I feel more mentally stable than I did for a good while. I might not always remember this right away, but I am awesome. And all of you are awesome, too. It’s so easy to focus on the negatives, but if you just stop and think the positives can always be found.”

How I manage to survive in spite of all the apocalyptic events that this cruel world has given me. I love how I see more clearly, how I am blessed to have all those people in my life that stayed by my side through thick and thin. I love being alive. And I am very much thankful to our Lord for the gift of life and for his unconditional love and understanding.”
